Character Generation System

Technological Levels and Character Development

Clothing on characters will change in response to a variety of impetus. These will mainly be based off of the technological levels of an area. Characters will change based on a set collection of outfits connected to technological levels or if they have been given by the PC some article of clothing they desired. In order to support this structure specific choices have been made as regards model and skin development (Style Guide for Populace).

Clothing Factors

The game shall determine a character's choice of clothing based upon a series of determining factors.

 

Male/Female -> Body Type -> Faction -> Organization -> Personal Taste -> Tech Level -> Wealth

 

The Faction factor will determine clothing choices based upon preferences of the progressive, regressive or static factions.  Some may have very specific requirements (i.e. uniforms) but most will simply have a preference for a certain type of clothing.

 

The Organization factor will determine clothing that relates to specific professions or titular positions within a town.  This clothing will be attached to generated non-player characters who have been designated for those positions.

 

The Personal Taste factor will reflect a characters preference for either plain, average or flashy clothing.

 

The Tech Level factor will determine which clothing items are available to the character based on the Technological Level of the city and thus related production and trade abilities.  In order to facilitate the organization of clothing assets, the Technology Levels of the game will be paired into Tech Level Groups. There will be two sequential tech levels in each group, starting with Tech Level Group 1-2, and thus there will be five groups in total.

 

The Wealth factor will determine whether a character has enough financial means to purchase the clothing.  All clothing assets will be marked as cheap, average or expensive to facilitate this.
